We operate in full compliance with Indonesian and international maritime law, adhering to a multi-layered safety protocol that covers everything from vessel certification to crew training and emergency response. Our operations are transparent, fully licensed, and insured to provide absolute peace of mind.
Corporate & Regulatory Compliance
We are a legally registered and fully compliant entity under the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, ensuring professional and accountable operations.
- Business License (SIUP Pariwisata): Halmahera Yacht Charter operates under a Tanda Daftar Usaha Pariwisata (TDUP), a tourism business registration license issued by the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf), authorizing us to conduct marine tourism activities.

Maritime Safety & Vessel Certification
Our fleet is maintained to meet and exceed the stringent requirements of the Indonesian Directorate General of Sea Transportation (Direktorat Jenderal Perhubungan Laut).
- Vessel Seaworthiness: Each vessel holds a valid Surat Persetujuan Berlayar (SPB) or port clearance for every voyage, issued by the local harbor master (Syahbandar) in Ternate only after a thorough inspection of safety equipment and vessel documentation.
- Annual Inspections: Our yachts undergo comprehensive annual inspections covering hull integrity, engine performance, and safety systems to maintain their class and registration.
- Crew Certification & Training: Our captains hold, at minimum, an Ahli Nautika Tingkat II (ANT-II) license, and our engineers hold relevant Ahli Teknika Tingkat (ATT) certifications. All crew members are certified in Basic Safety Training (BST) in accordance with STCW (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers) and participate in regular onboard safety drills.
- Onboard Safety Equipment: Our vessels are equipped with modern, SOLAS-compliant safety gear, including GPS, radar, depth sounders, satellite phones (Iridium), EPIRB (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon), life rafts, life jackets, and comprehensive fire-fighting systems.
Operational Safety Protocols
Our commitment to safety extends to our day-to-day operational procedures.
- Emergency Action Plan (EAP): We have a detailed EAP for various scenarios, including medical emergencies, severe weather, and technical issues. This plan includes clear communication protocols with shore-based support and coordination with Indonesia’s National Search and Rescue Agency (BASARNAS).
- Guest Safety Briefings: Before embarking on any charter, all guests receive a mandatory and comprehensive safety briefing covering the vessel’s layout, emergency procedures, and the use of safety equipment.
- Dive Safety: Our dive operations are overseen by certified PADI professionals. We enforce conservative dive profiles, conduct thorough pre-dive briefings, and ensure emergency oxygen is available on all dive tenders.

Insurance and Protection
We ensure comprehensive protection for our people, assets, and guests.
- Crew Insurance: All our Indonesian employees are covered by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, the national social security program, which includes work accident and life insurance.

Rigorous vessel certification and maintenance standards
Imagine the quiet thrill of gliding across the glassy turquoise waters of the Spice Islands, knowing every element of your vessel has been meticulously vetted for your journey. Our commitment to safety extends far beyond basic registration. Each Halmahera yacht charter vessel undergoes a stringent regimen of inspections and maintenance, adhering to the highest global maritime standards. We partner with internationally recognized classification societies, such as Bureau Veritas or RINA, whose independent surveyors conduct rigorous examinations of our hulls, machinery, safety equipment, and navigation systems. These comprehensive inspections are mandated to occur every 12 months, with a complete dry-docking and overhaul performed every five years, ensuring every component meets or exceeds the industry’s most demanding specifications for structural integrity and operational reliability.
